Templates can be created in the Word version and will work on a Mac. The Mac interface does not currently have Quick Parts. On a Mac, Content Controls can be used but can not be created. This is not as simple but there are utilities to assist with that. These are known as Cover Page Properties. This is what is done in many of the templates from Microsoft. A change made in one spot will be reflected in all copies. Then copy that modified control to other places.
